P1s Go Wild!
Woody from Toy Story has visited our class a number of times recently to set various challenges for the boys during our Wild West topic. Alongside our amazing Stranmillis student, Miss Mc Ewen, he left notes asking them to build him a den outside, sift for gold nuggets in the sand and count them into bags, build a wigwam with sticks and string and then make him some Cowboy Stew in our mud kitchen!
Finally he invited us to his Cowboy Party in the forest near the Play park.
We all dressed up in cowboy gear and went outside to sing songs to the guitar at a real campfire. Then we heated up sausages and toasted marshmallows in the flames.
There were games of throw the lasso onto the cactus and toss the boot into the hoop.
When we came in we had hot chocolate with more marshmallows and played “Draw the tail on the Horse” (blindfolded) and ended off with our special Cowboy Barn Dance.
Of course, we had to then watch Woody star in his special movie Toy Story.
What a great time we’ve had! Yeeha!
