Welcome to Inchmarlo

Welcome to our school website. It can only impart a flavour of life at Inchmarlo but I hope you will find it interesting and informative.

Set in six acres of picturesque surroundings between the Malone and Lisburn Roads, the school has extensive facilities, such as an ICT suite, interactive whiteboards, astro-turf pitch and two playing fields. Academic excellence is achieved through our attention to individual needs, while we cater for all talents and interests through a vast range of extra curricular activities. There is also a comprehensive programme of sport, music and drama and the House system ensures boys achieve success and self- confidence in all of these areas.

We're very proud of our boys and we enjoy an excellent relationship with parents, whose support is greatly appreciated.

If you would like to see around the school please do not hesitate to contact me and you will receive a warm welcome from boys and staff.

Mr A Smyth - Head Master

Harvest Service

Mr Armstrong welcomed all the new Inchmarlo parents to the annual Harvest service.

The hall was decorated with the boys' art and written work and the contributions of food which we donate to the Salvation Army.

The choir, brass band and orchestra performed musical items and there were contributions from P4 and P1 -P3.

Number One In Maths!

Inchmarlo has recently won the award of top school in Northern Ireland in ‘Maths Week Ireland’, an online numeracy challenge hosted by Mangahigh.  With over 700 schools taking part, competition was fierce.

Tasks were completed in class with pupils making full use of the computer suite and the iPads.  Homeworks were also set, but many boys chose to do much more, such was the determination to succeed.

Overall it was a magnificent effort for the boys to finish in 8th position and the only one from Northern Ireland to be in the top ten.  Congratulations to all involved.

Inst senior trio meet the House Captains of Inchmarlo

On Friday 19th October 2013 the Head of school, Toby Boyd was joined by the deputies of school, Andrew McGrath and David Trimble, to attend the senior assembly at the preparatory department Inchmarlo. The senior trio were interviewed by the Principal, Janet Williamson, about life at Inst, before taking questions from the P4 to P7 boys. Despite the early start, the boys were not thrown by one question, "would you rather be a small fish in a large river, or a large fish in a small ocean," all three replied, "a Big fish." A special welcome was extended to Toby and David who were both past pupils of Inchmarlo.

This is an exciting time at the prep department with the new 2G hockey pitch thanks to the tireless work of the IPA, (Inchmarlo parents' association). We have extended the hours of the Preschool, with places available until 6.00pm. With excellent facilities, we have a few places left in KS1 and 2.
